Never a Bride

“Isn’t the view beautiful? It takes my breath away. Well, it would if I had any.”
-The Corpse Bride

Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays. And what d’ya know it’s right around the corner! It’s the one time of year you can be ANYONE you want, for a night! And as a makeup artist and hairstylist it becomes even more of an adventure. We can really show off our skills and take a costume to the next level.

Recently, I’ve become obsessed with Instagrammer and YouTuber, Mykie. She is a wizard with special effects makeup (check out her channel here)! She really inspired me to go get some liquid latex and try something outside of my comfort zone.

I’ve always loved the movie Corpse Bride. And every year I say I’m going to dress up as her. But I never wanted to dress as the animated version of her. There are some amazing tutorials out there (like this one) for that look. BUT me being me, I wanted to take Emily to the next level. I wanted to make her dead and gory. So with a few tips from Mykie’s Frost Bitten Elsa video, I grabbed my white makeup, some liquid latex and got started!

And who would I be if I didn’t film it to share with all of you! So take a look below:

Before I go any further, I have a few people I want to thank. First and foremost my friend Ariana, for styling my hair! Next, my roommate Deirdre, for helping to paint my arms and chest white. Also, Marsha with Meero Mani Nails for my custom made set of gorgeous nails! And then of course the ever talented Domineque Wold for taking beautifully creepy pictures of me (seen above and more to come later)! I seriously cannot thank Domineque enough for all she does for me and this blog. If you haven’t checked out her photography yet, go look now: HERE!
